​​​​​​​2026 China-U.S. Young Maker Competition Concludes Successful Stanford Session, Drawing Nearly 400 Bay Area Innovators

Palo Alto, CA — The 2026 China-U.S. Young Maker Competition (U.S. Regional Round – Stanford Session) successfully concluded recently. Hosted by the Ministry of Education of the People"s Republic of Chinaand organized by the Hanbridge Institute for Intelligence, the event centered on the theme "Co-Making the Future."It attracted nearly 600 applicants, with close to 400 attendees gathering at Stanford University, packing the venue to capacity and highlighting the Bay Area youth"s fervor for technological innovation and international exchange.

 

Lily Xiong, Head of the U.S. Division, reviewed the history of the China-U.S. Young Maker Competition and outlined the 2026 season plan along with the U.S. region’s support system. Jimmy Cai, Hongyu Li, and Paul Marca each addressed key dimensions for young innovators—examining AI evolution and AGI startup opportunities, analyzing chip production challenges alongside cross-border collaboration models, and discussing interdisciplinary skills and innovation frameworks—delivering insights that balanced strategic vision with industry relevance.

The second half of the event featured a demo day where eight outstanding teams showcased innovations merging AI with physical industries:

Mirai Tech:AI-powered smart insoles for real-time monitoring of athlete fatigue and injury risk, already applied in professional sports health management.

Vocci:Pioneering an "AI Context Layer" to build precise user scenario databases via smart wearables.

Optima:UtilizingAI to automate hospital administrative paperwork, freeing up medical staff to focus on patient care.

Exoheal: An AI-powered hand exoskeleton for rehabilitation and assistive daily use.

Blockless:An AI hardware development platform enabling rapid hardware prototyping via natural language interaction.

Zylo3D:Integrating AI design with automated 3D printing to enable single-visit dental restoration.

VisionX/PrimeDrive:A vehicle service system allowing travelers to complete hotel check-in procedures during their journey.

StockFan:A digital ecosystem connecting investors with listed companies, integrating data services and investor relations management.

Following the demos, guests and makers engaged in deep discussions regarding technology iteration, business models, and global expansion. Several projects received significant attention from investors present at the event.

The U.S. Regional Committee will continue to host innovation bootcamps, resource matchmaking, and incubation programs to provide full-cycle support for young makers—from concept validation to industrial implementation. Registration for the 2026 competition is currently open worldwide.
